The original L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme changed how men thought about aquatic fragrance when it launched in 1994. This Eau de Parfum, created in 2025, doesn't try to replace it it goes deeper.
Perfumer Sophie Labbé built this composition after a meeting with Alexis Rosenfeld, underwater photographer and founder of Project 1Ocean, a UNESCO-backed initiative dedicated to documenting and protecting ocean biodiversity. The fragrance is less about the surface of the sea and more about what's underneath it the pressure, the cold, the dark.
It opens with Sichuan pepper, which brings a dry, almost electric spice that cuts through the aquatic freshness the line is known for. The heart is fir balsam resinous and slightly green, the smell of a forest at the edge of the water. The base is cedarwood, warm and grounding, giving the whole thing a solidity that the original EDT never quite had. This is a Woody Aromatic fragrance for men, and it wears like one: structured, unhurried, with real staying power.
The concentration is Eau de Parfum, so the projection is fuller and the longevity significantly longer than the classic version.

This fragrance is vegan-certified and made from 92% ingredients of natural origin. The bottle is refillable — the first time the iconic L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme flacon has been designed this way. The cap is carved from a single piece of wood, no plastic.
