Hardkor by Coreterno is a 2022 Eau de Parfum for women and men composed by the gifted Arturetto Landi that wears its conviction with exactly that quality: vivid, tropical, and entirely unapologetic at the surface; richly white-floral at the heart; and dark, leathered, oud-driven, and deeply resinous at the close. A fragrance of extraordinary compositional ambition tropical fruit above, opulent florals through the centre, and a seven-note oriental-leather base below that achieves something genuinely rare: it is simultaneously beautiful and, in every sense, completely, magnificently hardkor.

The opening is vivid, sun-drenched, and of an immediate tropical intensity: Black Currant with its distinctive dark, jammy, slightly catty richness that is simultaneously sweet, tart, and intensely fruity opens with dark, concentrated berry depth. Mango adds its lush, tropical, fleshy sweetness of ripe sun-warmed fruit; Passionfruit the intensely aromatic, slightly tart, exotically floral-fruity character of the Passiflora edulis, with its distinctive sharp, tropical luminosity that cuts through sweetness with a vivid, almost electric freshness adds an arresting, sharp tropical brightness; and Grapefruit lifts the accord with clean citrus clarity four tropical and citrus materials of vivid, concentrated, immediately compelling presence that establish Hardkor’s most irresistible, most disarming opening quality: fruit that is never simply sweet, but always vivid, always alive, always slightly dangerous.

The heart deepens into a richly opulent, three-floral accord: Orchid the exotic, slightly powdery-sweet, vanilla-adjacent floral character of the orchid family, with a warm, creamy, subtly tropical floral richness opens the heart with an exotic, gently voluptuous warmth. Jasmine adds its luminous, slightly indolic white floral radiance the backbone of the great Oriental floral tradition. And Lily-of-the-Valley the small, bell-shaped Convallaria majalis, with its clean, dewy, slightly green fresh floral character provides a luminous freshness that lifts the opulent floral heart and keeps it radiant, breathing, and beautifully alive the unexpected, quietly brilliant counterweight to the darkness gathering below.

The dry-down is where Hardkor earns its name most fully and most magnificently: Leather arrives with smooth, supple, quietly animal authority; Agarwood (Oud) the resinous heartwood of the Aquilaria tree, the rarest and most precious material in Arabian perfumery, with its irreplaceable smoky, multi-faceted, deeply resinous complexity forms the dark, sovereign resinous core. Olibanum rises with its sacred, silvery-smoky Boswellia depth; Patchouli adds dark, earthy richness; Amber glows with golden resinous warmth; Vanilla adds golden, creamy sweetness; and White Musk draws the entire, vast composition close to the skin with intimate, clean warmth a seven-note base of extraordinary depth and complexity that anchors the tropical brightness above and the opulent florals at the centre in a dark, oriental, leather-oud dry-down of genuine, uncompromising, and completely magnificent depth.
