Penhaligon’s 2024 tribute to this extraordinary place is a fragrance of rare, elemental beauty a unisex composition that transports the wearer to the very edge of the ancient world.
The opening is powerful and immediately evocative: the sacred, resinous smoke of Frankincense rises with ancient authority, joined by the warm, complex spice of Guatemalan Cardamom among the finest cardamom in the world, aromatic and deeply nuanced and the sharp, crackling heat of Black Pepper. It is an opening that smells of desert caravans and candlelit temples, bold and utterly transportive.
The heart deepens into a rich, opulent accord: the dark, jammy sweetness of Plum adds a luscious fruitiness that balances the spice, while Tobacco brings its characteristic smoky, leathery warmth rich and deeply masculine in the most timeless sense.
